Joining Newnan Presbyterian Church
Membership Information
All who profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are welcome to become members of the congregation of Newnan Presbyterian Church. Members are received by the Session by public profession of faith, reaffirmation of faith, or by letter of transfer from another congregation. Those who have not been baptized may receive this Sacrament.
New Member Socials/Dinners offer prospective and new members a greater opportunity to get to know other members of the Church family.
Joining the Church
You may join the NPC family in one of three ways:
By Profession of Faith
If you have never been a member of a Christian Church, you may join the Church by publicly affirming your faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Those who have not been baptized may receive this Sacrament.
Young people in Grades 7 and up are invited to attend the Confirmation Program (held in the spring, every other year), to prepare them to make their profession of faith. The Program consists of a luncheon for youth and parents, several classes, a weekend retreat, time spent with individual sponsors, and a dinner and meeting with the Session. Contact the Associate Pastor for more information.
By Reaffirmation of Faith
If you have been a member of a Christian Church before and your membership is inactive, you may reaffirm your faith in Jesus Christ.
By Transfer of Membership
You may transfer your letter of membership from any other Christian church.
Reception into Membership
New members are received into membership at a Session meeting on Sunday mornings and welcomed into the congregation at the subsequent worship service. If you are interested in becoming a member of Newnan Presbyterian Church, please talk with one of our ministers at the end of the worship service or call them at 770-253-4405.
New Member Christ Care Group
This is a small group setting designed to introduce
new and prospective members to the Christian and Presbyterian beliefs of the Newnan Presbyterian Church, and to show the opportunities for participation in the various Church programs. Please contact the church office at 770-253-4405 if you are interested.
Interested in How You Can Serve at NPC?
There are many opportunities for you to get involved at NPC - to grow spiritually, to serve others, and to witness. The
Time and Talent form provides members, old and new, the chance to share with the Church their special talents and willingness to volunteer their time in areas they feel most called.
