Sacrament of Holy Communion

In the Sacrament of Holy Communion (also known as The Lord’s Supper), we re-enact Jesus’ final meal with his disciples as it is described in the Gospels (Matthew 26:26-30, Mark 14:22-26, Luke 22:14-23). This sacrament offers us the opportunity to be fed and strengthened for our journey in the faith, in community with other believers. All baptized Christians, of any age, are invited to participate in this sacrament.
Sunday Mornings
The sacrament of Holy Communion is normally offered on the first Sunday of each month at all worship services. Elders assist the pastors in serving communion to the congregation, passing bread plates and trays of individual cups down the pews. Once a quarter, we serve communion by intinction, inviting people to come forward to the front of the sanctuary to receive the bread and dip it in the cup.
Special Services
Holy Communion is celebrated at special services throughout the year, including Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Easter, World Communion Sunday, All Saints Sunday and Christmas Eve.
Home Communion
On regular "Communion Sundays," and at other times by special request, pastors and church elders take communion to members who are not able to attend worship services at the church. You may receive "home communion" in your own home, or in other locations, such as hospitals, nursing homes, and extended care facilities.
