Civil Rights Field Day
POST PUBLISH DATE:
June 4, 2025
July 11th at 9AM
On Friday, July 11th, NPC Youth and chaperones will travel from NPC to The National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery, AL. After visiting the memorial, we will eat lunch together. We will have an opportunity to discuss what we have seen, heard, and felt during the experience. We will depart from NPC at 9 am and plan to return around 5pm.
According to their website, “The National Memorial for Peace and Justice is the nation’s first memorial dedicated to the legacy of enslaved black people, people terrorized by lynching, African Americans humiliated by racial segregation and Jim Crow, and people of color burdened with contemporary presumptions of guilt and police violence.”
